Just a bit of rambling ........

I can remember when living on the N side of the Baltimore, MD metro area......  There was a forecast of snow during the work day.  People started freaking out!  The entire plant was empty within a few hours.   Local news was telling everyone to get home and hunker down.  They were only calling for .5 to 1" of snow.

Now me (being the country bumpkin from central Illinois), couldn't understand the fuss. I had dealt with real snowstorms back there!  We had just moved to MD a short while before this event.  So, I just stayed at work until the end of my regular work day and went home.

I found out that people were even more stupid than I thought they would be.  I only lived about 3 miles from the plant (Martin Marietta - Essex / Little River facility), but there were abandoned cars everywhere and others were absolute maniacs (Mad Max style).  It was like the area had lost it's mind.  Took me almost 3 hours to drive home that day.

This storm pretty much shut down the entire metro area for about a week!  The Baltimore PD, Fire and emergency services were reporting they were UNable to respond to all but the most serious of calls, and  there were numerous reports of looting in the Downtown area.

I never did understand that area in the (roughly) 5 years of living there....

Yesterday they announced sleet and freezing rain, dc area, everyone was freaking out, roads paralyzed and the icing on the cake was there wasnt actually any rain or sleet. For 10 mins and thats it. Roads were fine yet the @#% idjiots wrecked anyway.
Analyze this.
Brawndo. It's got what plants crave.
