Web site career search list
« on: March 26, 2008, 07:45:46 am »

I am now looking for a new job in San Diego and/or Orange County. If Dino or anyone has the updated web search list, I would greatly appreciate your help.

I suggest you work with pm4hire's email list of recruiters. It's a bit out of date now that he's "retired".  My database of job boards is hopelessly out of date - I haven't even looked at it in 5 or 6 years.  You'd be better off building your own DB from scratch.

The only issue I see with pm4hire's list is that it is nationwide, containing about 2,000 entries, of which only a small fraction can be expected to be recruiting for Southern CA.  And you would need to do a little work to set up for mass mailing without getting busted by your mail host for spamming.

Also, I would recommend using a "teaser" when emailing the recruiters, instead of a traditional resume.  Say what job you want, the geography, your rate, and a 1 or 2 line summary of your skills.  And say "resume on request", but answer all requests with a request for the description of the position they're actually recruiting for.

Other posters may differ, or have other suggestions.  Take it all in and do what feels right for you.
